我是一个女孩,因为我的出生,让爷爷奶奶的抱孙梦落空了。我想,大概是因为我足够幸运,才能这样一点点成长,直至今天坐在这个能决定我未来的高考考场。你也许会奇怪,我为什么会这样说。是的,我与其他人有那么一点不同,我的听力很差,对于一个农村家庭来说,的确是一种致命的打击。我依稀记得小时候的自己对于声音的反应很差,我记得爸妈总是要对我“大喊”,我记得我从来都是坐第一排。我无法正常的与其他小朋友交流,所以每当她们玩着捉迷藏以及丢沙包时,我总会一个人默默的坐在课桌上,我把课本看了一遍又一遍,眼睛却不自觉地向操场瞄去。每当有人望过来,又极其心虚地收回目光,像做坏事被抓住了。

我无法拥有2015感动中国十大人物之一——陶艳波的妈妈,她做儿子的耳朵。她十六年陪伴,她作他的耳朵,她是他的同桌,让他听见这世间的轻盈,也听见无声的爱。我的妈妈,她只能在放学回家一遍又一遍教我读拼音,她只能偷偷背着我去其他同学家里,叫她们陪我一起玩。她只能在赶集回来给我带回来一本《安徒生故事》,但正是这样一本书,开启了我对阅读的爱好,也开启了我心中的一扇窗。即使我的听力不好,但我却沉浸在那些故事中。我爱上了文字,爱上了阅读,我庆幸,我为自己开启了一扇窗。

秋风送爽,田间翻滚着金黄的稻谷,爸妈面朝黄土背朝天。冬风萧瑟,爸妈仍在风雪中劳作。他们为了我,省吃俭用。就在十岁那年,他们带我去大城市,那些冰冷的检查设备让我害怕,与医院里那些穿着漂亮的人相比,我们一家如同最可怜的存在。后来,我的耳朵上多了一样东西,那是一个助听器,哪怕很多人从我身边过都要看我的耳朵,但我心中比害羞更多的是欢喜,我能够更清楚的听见声音。即使是这样,我依然与书为伴,我尝试着写作,在六年级时,我的习作《母爱》在《小溪流》发表时,我看到我的文字变成了铅字。当我的作文被邻班语文老师拿去当范文朗读时,我终于听到的不是“那就是隔壁班那个聋子”,而是“今天老师朗读的那篇作文是她写的”。

一次无意间听到了母亲和一个与我同龄的孩子家长聊天,她特别自豪的给她说自己的儿子都去过了哪些哪些地方。那位家长有点不屑的说,他都出去自己玩了,又不带你去,你还得给他那么多的钱。而我的母亲却说了一句让我再次鼻尖发酸的话:“我都这么大岁数了,跟人家大小伙子一块儿走我也走不动,每次回来看到他拍的照片,听他给我讲我就很高兴了,这就相当于他替我去了,跟我自己去一样!”

这不正是那颗大树么,其努力的结出了累累硕果,目的就是为了让我们这些飞禽走兽能够无忧无虑的远走高飞。只要我们过得幸福,她就得到了最大的满足。

Every man wants his son to be somewhat of a clone, not in features but in footsteps. As he grows you also age, and your ambitions become more unachievable. You begin to realize that your boy, in your footsteps, could probably accomplish what you hoped for. But footsteps can be muddied and they can go off in different directions.

My son Jody has hated school since day one in kindergarten. Science projects waited until the last moment. Book reports weren’t written until the final threat.

When John was growing up, other kids felt sorry for him. His parents always had him weeding the garden, carrying out the garbage and delivering newspapers. But when John reached adulthood, he was better off than his childhood playmates. He had more job satisfaction, a better marriage and was healthier. Most of all, he was happier. Far happier.

These are the findings of a 40-year study that followed the lives of 456 teenage boys from Boston. The study showed that those who had worked as boys enjoyed happier and more productive lives than those who had not. “Boys who worked in the home or community gained competence (能力) and came to feel they were worthwhile members of society,” said George Vaillant, the psychologist (心理学家) who made the discovery. “And because they felt good about themselves, others felt good about them.”

Vaillant’s study followed these males in great detail. Interviews were repeated at ages 25, 31 and 47. Under Vaillant, the researchers compared the men’s mental-health scores with their boyhood-activity scores with their boyhood-activity scores. Points were awarded for part-time jobs, housework, effort in school, and ability to deal with problems.

The link between what the men had done as boys and how they turned out as adults was surprisingly sharp. Those who had done the most boyhood activities were twice as likely to have warm relations with a wide variety of people, five times as likely to be well paid and 16 times less likely to have been unemployed. The researchers also found that IQ and family social and economic class made no real difference in how the boys turned out. Working----at any age----is important. Failure is probably the most exhausting experience a person ever has. There is nothing more tiring than not succeeding.

We experience this tiredness in two ways: as start-up fatigue(疲惫) and performance fatigue. In the former case, we keep putting off a task because it has either too boring or too difficult. And the longer we delay it, the more tired we feel.

Such start-up fatigue is very real, even if not actually physical, not something in our muscles and bones. The solution is obvious though perhaps not easy to apply: always handle the most difficult job first.

Years ago, I was asked to write 102 essays on the great ideas of some famous authors. Applying my own rule, I determined to write them in alphabetical(按字母顺序), never letting myself leave out a tough idea. And I always started the day’s work with the difficult task of essay-writing. Experience proved that the rule works.

Performance fatigue is more difficult to handle. Though willing to get started, we cannot seem to do the job right. Its difficulties appear so great that, however hard we work, we fail again and again. In such a situation, I work as hard as I can-then let the unconscious take over.

I’m a 34-year-old man, married, lived in a nice house, and have a successful career as an educational consultant. But my life was not always so great. I had a learning disability from an early age. My life improved remarkably when I discovered art. The art world gave me a chance to express myself without words. I went to a workshop and gradually got good at making things with clay(黏土).
